What it is
A designed poster, not a template with a hole in it
Most poster makers give you a layout with a box for your picture. These are built the other way round: each template is a complete design idea — a golden starburst, a risograph print, a clay sculpture, a magazine cover — and your product is drawn into it, in its colours, with the words from its packaging set as type. Or start without a product at all, from a brief, for the event, the class or the opening.

Your product, made the hero
Photo-led layouts put the product at the centre and build the poster around it: an Art Deco starburst, a coarse halftone plate, a Y2K magazine cover, two units framed by a band of stars. The product is photographed into the design, label and all, rather than pasted on top.

Type that does the talking
Giant names, stacked words, sticker piles and specimen sheets. A word from the pack becomes the whole composition — repeated, outlined, rotated up the middle — and the product sits inside it. Bold enough to read across a shop floor, or across a crowded feed.

Drawn, painted, cut and sculpted
Coloured pencil, gouache, oil pastel, plasticine, paper cut-outs and engraving. The product is redrawn in the poster's own hand, so the whole sheet reads as one piece of illustration — the look of a commissioned artwork, in the time it takes to run.

No product? Start from a brief
Some templates need no photo at all. Write the name, the headline and the details — the class times, the address, the date — and the studio sets them into the design. Made for yoga studios, supper clubs, openings, workshops and anything else that needs a poster this week.
Use cases
Where it earns its place

Product launches
Announce something new with a poster built around the thing itself, in its own colours, ready for the window and the feed on the same day.
Shop windows and counters
A poster for the window, the till or the shelf edge — big type that reads from across the street, with the product right there in it.
Events and openings
Classes, pop-ups, tastings, launches and parties, from a few lines of text. No product photo needed — just the name, the headline and the details.
Social posts
Poster-style squares and stories stand out in a feed full of photographs. Make a series in one style and post them as a set.

Questions
Do I need a product photo?
For most templates, yes — the poster is built around it. Some start from a brief instead: write the name, the headline and the details, and the studio sets them.
Where do the words come from?
From your packaging and from you. Product posters take their words off the pack; brief posters set the words you write.
What shape are the posters?
Each template has its own: 400:533, 2:3, 1:1, 400:267, 4:3 and 400:711. Most are upright, ready for print or a story.
What does it cost?
Every run is priced in credits, and the price is on the button before you press it. New accounts get 10 free credits.
Who owns the content I create?
You do. Content you generate on Patternful.ai is yours to use, including commercially, under our AI license.
